Welcome! I think that learning to draw is one of the most rewarding hobbies you can try – whether you think you’ve got a “creative brain” or not! I enjoy encouraging people to learn so much that I made a whole video series about it! But if you’re here, you probably have seen that already.

What I Can Teach#
I share knowledge and tips about things that I think I’m qualified to talk about. In my video series and resources on this website, you’ll find:
- Motivational advice around drawing. Why draw? How do you handle complex feelings when it comes to making art? How do you survive as an artist in today’s society?
- Learning Resources and where you can find them. Courses I recommend. Other videos. Things to study.
- Tips and “Secrets” of making art. Nothing’s really a secret, but some things that artists just kind of “do” aren’t often written down in places that are easy to find.
- New in 2024: Digital Art Skills. Techniques of using layers, blending modes, and all of the common tools you’ll find and how they’re actually used to make art.
What I Don’t Teach#
I do not think I’m qualified to provide general or personalized art advice. Notably:
- I do not give advice on how to draw from fundamentals. Wait – that’s what you’re here for, right? Don’t worry! I will tell you how to draw by pointing you towards experts and resources that have worked well for me and others.
- I do not usually provide personalized critique. Sometimes I offer advice on what to study next via my Q&A videos.
Why don’t I do these things? Because I’ve only been doing art for a few years! I’ve not had professional training, and while I’m happy with my progress, I still feel like I’m beginner-mid-level. But that doesn’t mean I can’t research and give advice about resources that do work, which is how I’ve ended up here.
